Ο Harshit Rana έκανε το ντεμπούτο του στο T20I στο VS Eng 4th T20i στο Puna
The India Cricket Team currently faces a crisis in terms of their pace bowling unit. Jasprit Bumrah is currently injured and his future for ICC Champions Trophy is in major doubt. On the other hand, Mohammed Shami is gradually making a comeback into the international setup. Meanwhile, Aakash Chopra has urged Gautam Gambhir to give an ODI debut to young pacer Harshit Rana.
Heading into the IND vs ENG ODI setup, India has just 3 senior pacers available. Rohit Sharma has confirmed that Shami would be leading the charge. He will be accompanied by Arshdeep Singh. On the other hand, Hardik Pandya is expected to be the third pacer.
Will Harshit Rana get his ODI debut?
But India has the backup option of using Harshit Rana. And Aakash Chopra has advocated Gambhir to use Harshit Rana in the 3-match ODI series. As per the lastest update by the BCCI, Varun Chakravarthy has been added to the squad, while Bumrah’s name from the 3rd ODI has been quietly removed.
“Bumrah’s name not mentioned in the updated squad. Not for the final ODI also. There’s no Siraj in the team already. Find a way to get Rana to debut bs Eng. I don’t know how though…with Arshdeep having played only a handful of ODI and Shami on a comeback trail. Play three seamers?” Aakash Chopra wrote on social media.
Back in the IND vs ENG 4th T20I in Pune, Rana got his debut. The young pacer came on as a concussion substitute in place of Shivam Dube. Rana impressed with the ball picking up 3 wickets on his T20I debut. Now, Chopra believes that with Mohammed Siraj on the team, India should use Rana as the third pacer keeping in mind that Arshdeep has played just a couple of ODI games.
