RR, με επικεφαλής τον Sanju Samson
Rajasthan Royals captain Sanju Samson has been fined for maintaining slow-over rate in the game against Gujarat Titans. The offence marks RR’s second one in IPL 2025 after stand-in skipper Riyan Parag was fined earlier. RR slumped to a 58-run defeat, thanks to which GT are now table-toppers with 4 successive wins.

Samson, RR players penalized
As per a press release, Samson has been fined Rs 24 lakh for RR maintaining slow-over rate. The rest of the players, including the impact substitute, will have to pay Rs 6 lakh as fine or 25 percent of their match fee.
“As this was his team’s second offence of the season under Article 2.22 of the IPL’s Code of Conduct, which pertains to minimum over-rate offences, Samson was fined INR 24 lakhs. The rest of the members of the Playing XI, including the Impact Player, will be fined either INR six lakhs or 25 per cent of their respective match fees, whichever is lesser,” the release read.
What happened in yesterday’s GT vs RR match?
Sai Sudharshan’s 82-run knock powered Gujarat Titans to 217/6 in 20 overs after being sent to bat. Jos Buttler and Shahrukh Khan also made valuable contributions before Rahul Tewatia’s impactful knock of 12-ball 24.
Jofra Archer bowled a fiery first spell, dismissing Shubman Gill in the 3rd over. But other than that, RR bowlers did not have luck on their side. Rajasthan struggled throughout the chase. Shimron Hetmyer and Sanju Samson offered some resistance. But other than that, there was no meaningful contribution as RR folded for 159.
