India cricket team batter Virat Kohli is all set to participate in his fourth Champions Trophy. Ahead of the team’s opening match against Bangladesh, the former Indian skipper expressed his love for the tournament. Kohli previously featured in the tournament in 2009, 2013 and 2017.

“Have to be at your best from game one”
Speaking to Star Sports, Virat revealed that he always liked the Champions Trophy. He pointed out that it represented consistency as a team would have to be in the top 8 rankings in order to qualify. Kohli said that he was in awe of the level of competition in the tournament.
“The tournament is happening after a long time. I have always liked this tournament. It represents consistency as you have to be in the top 8 of the rankings (to qualify). The level of competition is always good,” Kohli said.

Further, Kohli said that the format of the Champions Trophy was as such that one would have to be at their best right from game one. He said that the tournament created the pressure of a T20 World Cup in the ODI format. Virat explained that he liked CT 2025 because there was pressure right from the first match and that there was no room for errors.
“In ODI format, it creates the pressure of a T20 World Cup. There also you have three or four games in the league stage. If you don’t start well, you are under pressure. The pressure is from the first game itself and that is why I like it, you have to be at your best from game one,” he added.
After enduring a rough patch over the last 5 months, Kohli finally found his touch in IND vs ENG ODI series. In what was a promising sign for India ahead of Champions Trophy, the batter scored a half-century against England. All eyes will be on the former skipper to go all guns blazing in the marquee tournament in Dubai.
