Η Ινδία έδειξε μη ρεαλιστική κυριαρχία σε μια ουρλιάζοντας με μια λευκή μπάλα, αφού η Ινδία κέρδισε 2 τρόπαια ICC τους τελευταίους 9 μήνες.
The India cricket team isn’t relied on certain individuals anymore. It’s something that many criticised even a couple of years ago. In white cricket especially, Team India’s batting was dependent on the top order. The recent title run in the 2025 Champions Trophy has proven that that trend is over.

India doesn’t need one big player anymore
Former Indian captain Sunil Gavaskar thinks that Team India has risen above big names. You don’t need Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, or Jasprit Bumrah to take you to victory. Something that happened even with Kohli less than a decade ago in ICC events. Such is the talent and depth that if one player goes out, another player of similar quality emerges.
“The triumph in the Champions Trophy and that too without Bumrah also emphasises that nobody is indispensable in this game. In the past too, India has won without Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, but there’s not the slightest doubt that their presence in the team gives the team an even more invincible look,” Sunil wrote in his Mid-Day article.

Loss of Rohit Sharma & Kohli not felt
An example of this depth can be illustrated by how well Team India has done in T20Is after Rohit Sharma and Kohli retired. Post the 2024 T20 World Cup, Team India has played 20 matches without them and won 17. That’s an astonishing 85% win percentage.
“Very seldom has a team depended on one individual like the Indians depended on Jasprit Bumrah in Australia, and his absence from the bowling attack to defend the small target set by India tilted the scales Australia’s way. For the Indian team to bounce back the way they did with comprehensive wins in the ODI and T20 series against England that were played on the team’s return to India tells volumes of the talent that Indian cricket has,” he added.
