With reports suggesting that Pakistan has agreed to host the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 in a hybrid model, both India and Pakistan will participate in the upcoming tournament. The CT 2025 is scheduled to be held in March in Pakistan; however, India requested their matches be held outside Pakistan as they have refused to travel to the neighboring country. In a recent ICC meeting for the tournament, the issue has reportedly been resolved, with both countries agreeing to the hybrid model.

A total of eight teams – India, Pakistan, Australia, England, South Africa, New Zealand, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh – have secured their spots for the 2025 edition of the tournament, which makes its comeback after an eight-year break.

What is ICC Champions Trophy 2025 format?
In the group stage, each team will compete against every other team in their group in a single round-robin format. The top two teams from each group will advance to the semi-finals. The semi-final matches will determine the finalists, who will then compete for the championship in the grand final.
In the previous edition, the tournament was held in a one-day format. The upcoming edition is also anticipated to be in the ODI format.
