Chennai Super Kings are under fire currently for losing two out of three games in IPL 2025. Ruturaj Gaikwad and co. have been questioned over their team selection, especially with the likes of Rahul Tripathi and Deepak Hooda failing. Now, a CSK scout has made some bold revalations on how his suggestions to the team ahead of the IPL 2025 auction were ignored.

Did CSK ignore suggestions to pick Aniket, Nigam & more?

In a video on CSK spinner Ashwin’s YouTube channel, Vidyut Sivaramakrishnan – a player turned scout for the team – explains that he had witnessed multiple domestic leagues before coming up with a list of uncapped players that the team could have targeted in the IPL 2025 mega auction.

“My job is trying to get uncapped players. I have no say in picking capped players. I went and saw two-three tournaments – UP league, Punjab league. I had suggested names such as Priyansh Arya, Swastik Chikara, Vipraj Nigam, Aniket Verma. I put these players on a list and gave it to the CSK management. With that my job is done. It is upto them if they take the player in the auction or not,” the CSK scout said.

CSK have been criticized for picking Rahul Tripathi and Deepak Hooda in the auction after their twin failures. On the other hand, the players mentioned by the CSK scout have done well in the initial phase of IPL 2025.

Arya, who plays for PBKS, made a 23-ball 47 in his very first IPL game. RCB’s Swastik is yet to get a game this season. Vipraj has been a standout performer for DC, In two matches, he scored 39 runs and has bowled spells of 1/35 and 0/21. His efforts on the field have been outstanding in both matches.

Aniket Verma has emerged as SRH’s face-saver in matches where their top-order has faltered. He has scored 36 and 74 runs in two matches.
